Conversations That Invite Curiosity

Ideas worth exploring & Stories worth sharing.

Gill Malfin is an author, former Marketing Director, qualified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner whose work explores one of the defining questions of our time:

How do humans remain thoughtful, discerning and deeply human in the age of artificial intelligence?

Her conversations bridge psychology, technology, behaviour, consciousness and everyday life, making complex subjects accessible without sensationalism or certainty.

Whether discussing AI, discernment, intuition, human behaviour or the future of society, Gill’s approach is grounded in curiosity, evidence where available, and honesty where mystery remains.

A Life That Doesn’t Fit Into One Box

Long before writing about artificial intelligence and discernment, Gill spent decades in technology and business.

She has worked in IT since 1983, became a board-level Marketing Director, led international technology projects, and has collaborated across sectors including cybersecurity and telecommunications.

Alongside this corporate career she trained in Life Coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), mindfulness and intuitive development, exploring how people think, change and make decisions.

Today these seemingly different paths have converged into one central question:

How do we make wiser decisions in an increasingly intelligent world?

Featured Projects:

TRUE • FALSE • PIN IT.

A practical framework for navigating information overload, AI-generated content and uncertainty without surrendering critical thinking.

Soul Weather

Bella-Anima

Luna’s Adventures

A beautifully illustrated children’s series encouraging emotional intelligence, kindness, courage and imagination for young readers.

Television

Many people first met Gill for an entirely different reason.

She appeared on Come Dine With Me, where her warmth, humour and memorable hosting earned her the winning title.

She later returned to compete in Come Dine With Me: Champion of Champions, bringing together previous winners from across the series.

Both programmes remain available on television streaming platforms and continue to introduce new audiences to Gill’s personality - long before they discover her books.

Gill appears in episodes 8 and 21. Did she win the scroll and the champagne toast?

Gills original Come Dine with me took place in Basingstoke and was first aired on 11th January2010:

In Basingstoke, amateur chef Gill Buley attempts a tricky choux pastry she hopes will wow her fellow diners. But do glamorous Gill's profiteroles make the grade?

It's day two in Basingstoke and 26-year-old host Sophie impresses her fellow diners with her multi-million pound country pile. But Sophie's cooking doesn't quite go to plan.

Richard Carpenter reckons the warmth of his welcome and a hearty menu will prove a crowd pleaser in Basingstoke. But what do the guests make of Richard's chaotic home and, perhaps even worse, his split custard?

Art teacher Gabrielle Hennig is a self-confessed "stress head" and hopes to do as much of her cooking in advance. But her eccentric hosting leaves her fellow diners in stitches.

It is the final night in Basingstoke and marketing manager Spencer Uren is going all out to win. But the night takes an unexpected turn when a surprise revelation brings tears of reconciliation to the whole group.

TV, Cancer, and Purpose

Gill Malfin (then Buley) appeared on Come Dine With Me - and won. Announced that she wished to share her winnings with a contestant named Spencer, whose sister had cancer at the time, so his goal was to win and donate the money to his sister.

Just a few weeks later, Spencer himself was diagnosed and the outlook wasn’t good. Gill was with him daily at the hospice until the end.

To honour him, she launched a charity: Come Dine for Spencer, donating the initial £500 win and went on to raise over £50,000 for the Hampshire Trust Hospital.

Interview Style

Gill enjoys thoughtful conversations rather than debates.

She is comfortable discussing:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Human discernment
  • Behavioural psychology
  • Decision making
  • Consciousness
  • Technology
  • Spiritual curiosity
  • Critical thinking
  • Creativity
  • Writing
  • Self-publishing
  • Living with uncertainty

She believes the most interesting conversations often begin with a good question rather than a confident answer.
