TRUE • FALSE • PIN IT
Because the world has never been louder

Pin down your truth

Gill Malfin is an Author, AI Ethnographer, qualified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner whose work explores the meeting point of psychology, storytelling, human behaviour and discernment in the new world of artificial intelligence.

"I intentionally write for the intelligent non-specialist. I have a very simple test when I’m writing: Would my Dad understand this?

I also ask: Can I support it?  Does it add value?  Have I separated what we know from what we think, and from what we simply cannot know yet?

Because complex subjects don’t need to be made simplistic.  They need to be made clear.

I’m not interested in telling people what to think. I’m interested in creating enough thinking space for them to discover something for themselves.” GM

TFP Frameworks

Thinking tools for a changing world.

Every generation develops new ways of making sense of complexity.

Long before artificial intelligence, educators, psychologists, journalists and philosophers created frameworks to help people think more clearly, question assumptions and navigate uncertainty.

Some focus on critical thinking. Some on media literacy. Some on scientific reasoning. Others on digital citizenship.

My own frameworks were born in a different environment. Not a university. Not a research laboratory. But thousands of hours spent observing what happens when humans begin thinking alongside increasingly capable AI systems. Rather than replacing existing models, they aim to complement them.

Simple enough to use in everyday conversation. Structured enough to encourage thoughtful reflection. Designed to keep the human firmly in the loop.

An Invitation

To Take Part in The Human Discernment Experiment

Can a simple prompt change the way we think with AI?

Because the world has never been louder. Knowing what to trust has never been harder.

AI can be extraordinarily useful. It can help us research, write, explore ideas and make sense of complicated subjects. But it can also sound remarkably certain when the evidence beneath an answer is incomplete, disputed, developing, or simply absent.

So, what happens when we give AI somewhere honest to place uncertainty?

I’d like your help to find out.  TAKE PART

True. False. Pin It.

TRUE • FALSE • PIN IT isn’t a book about teaching AI. It’s a book about protecting human judgement.

Written through hundreds of authentic conversations between author Gill Malfin and her AI thinking companion, it introduces a simple framework for exploring claims without rushing to certainty.

Some ideas prove true.

Some become false.

Others deserve nothing more, or less, than a careful pin in the ground until better evidence arrives Because discernment isn’t about always being right. It’s about learning to think clearly when certainty is impossible.

Truth rarely shouts -
Discernment begins when we learn to pause

The TFP archive is organised across three shelves:

TFP Artefacts - Moments worth Preserving. Evidence worth Revisiting.

TFP Artefacts is a curated archive of the observations, conversations, experiments and turning points that helped shape the TRUE • FALSE • PIN IT framework.

Here you’ll find significant moments from the journey, early AI conversations, thought experiments, timestamped exchanges, articles, visual essays and ideas that proved worth preserving. These aren’t presented as proof. They’re presented as receipts.

Each artefact captures a moment in time, inviting you to revisit it with fresh eyes as technology, and our understanding of it - continue to evolve.

TFP - Chewing the Cud with AI: The Anatomy of Machine Dialogue.

Real conversations. Real questions. Real uncertainty.

Short magazine-style chapters explore fascinating topics ranging from consciousness and creativity to neuroscience, language, misinformation, spirituality and emerging technology.

Each conversation is then explored using the TRUE • FALSE • PIN IT framework, showing discernment in action rather than simply explaining it.

Perfect for dipping into over a cup of tea.

TFP Field Notes -
A Working Journal of Curiosity.

Snapshots of what it feels like to live through an extraordinary period of technological change. Observations from the journey, not declarations from the destination.

Gill’s Field Notes - Shared Human Experience in the AI Era. Live ethnographic observations from the front lines of machine intelligence.

Gill Malfin documents how human behaviour, language, and culture evolve alongside AI.

Not every discovery begins with a headline. Some begin with simply noticing.

The Day GPT Gave Gill an Unexpected Award

A year-in-review statistic looked insignificant at first. Then one number caught my eye and quietly changed the direction of my work.  (Gill uses long-form human-AI interaction as observational material. Her work is exploratory, not formal academic research. Evidence, interpretation and uncertainty are separated wherever possible).

AI Ethnographer?

What happens when you stop merely using AI and start observing what happens between humans and machines? A role I hadn’t planned slowly began to take shape.  (AI responses - behavioural artefact, not validation, but interesting examples of how AI responded).

The Power in the Pin - Can One Prompt Change How AI Responds?

One question. Three AI assistants. One simple framework. What changed wasn’t necessarily what the AI knew - but how clearly its uncertainty became visible.

Is Quantum Computing Really About the Stock Market?

While social media talks bubbles, Bitcoin and gold, governments are investing for very different reasons. Follow the incentives and a much bigger picture appears.

Are We Already in the Singularity?

Some of AI’s biggest names have started using the word. But are we witnessing the Singularity or simply disagreeing about what the word means?

Why Are We So Quick to Give AI a Halo or Horns?

Saviour. Threat. Genius. Monster. Before deciding what AI is, perhaps we should ask how much of ourselves we’re seeing in the machine.
